Mission Statement

Our mission is to promote the study of the Earth Sciences with an emphasis on the collection of rocks, minerals, fossils and gems and promote the study of the arts and techniques of lapidary and jewelry making while encouraging the opportunity to exhibit, display and exchange specimens.

About Us

The interests of our members are widely varied ranging from field trips, rock, gem, mineral and fossil collecting and jewelry making. The Tehachapi Valley Gem and Mineral Society (TVGMS), a non-profit organization, is dedicated to bringing together, in good fellowship, individuals who are interested in promoting education knowledge and understanding of the earth sciences related to mineralogy, archaeology paleontology, geology and other related subjects.

TVGMS is a member of the California Federation of Mineralogical Societies. The CFMS website is a great source of information concerning all aspects of this hobby. Visit cfmsinc.org and browse current and past newsletters.
